The MAGNET
A multi-use building
in greater Copenhagen
Our MAGNETIC Vision
The Magnet is a place that attracts. It draws in businesses with a great location and strong transport links. It brings together old and new, mixing historic industrial buildings with a fresh, modern vision. Like a real magnet, it creates energy and opportunity, pulling in talent, clients, and forward-thinking companies who want to be part of something bigger.

History
Built in 1958 by Novo Nordisk during Valby's post-war industrial boom, the building stands as a symbol of transformation - marking the shift from open farmland to a center of innovation, production, and industry. Its gently curved brick facade traces the road like a magnet, subtly drawing people, and ideas.
The building's name, The Magnet, reflects this unique role—both as a historic anchor and a future-facing force of attraction. It speaks to its dual identity: rooted in mid-century industrial design, yet reimagined for a new era of connectivity and opportunity.
As Valby continues to evolve—spurred by new infrastructure like the København Syd Station and Metro M4—the area is becoming a vibrant nexus of business, creativity, and collaboration. Once a quiet corridor, it's now one of Copenhagen's most dynamic growth zones.
In this shifting urban landscape, The Magnet has found renewed relevance. It draws businesses with its strategic location and excellent transport links. It brings together history and progress—offering space that balances architectural heritage with a flexible, modern vision. And, like its name suggests, it generates a quiet pull, attracting companies, talent, and ideas that seek to be part of something bigger.
The broader transformation of the area was formalized in 2019, when the City of Copenhagen adopted the Blushøjvej II local plan. Recognizing the limitations of outdated industrial zoning, the plan opened the door to more diverse uses—offices, showrooms, workshops—all while retaining the area's unique character. The inclusion of No. 115–119 in this plan marks its place not just in the past, but firmly in the future of Valby.
Architecture
Over the past three years, The Magnet has been thoughtfully restored, bringing new life to its iconic mid-century form. Led by renowned Danish designer Johannes Torpe, the renovation honors the original architecture while updating it for modern business needs. With a focus on energy efficiency, premium materials, and sustainable design, the project embraced reuse to blend timeless character with contemporary function, creating a space that feels both authentic and future-ready.

Our state-of-the-art facilities are designed to support modern businesses with cutting-edge technology and sustainable features. From high-speed internet to smart building systems, every aspect has been carefully considered to create an optimal working environment.
